We are finally getting the first feel of football again for the first time in months. Whilst a small proportion of you may have gone on to support Belurisian teams, a lot of people didn’t, so German football is most people’s first time back at watching football. The first games started off this weekend just gone with some beautiful goals. Dortmund continued to run riot beating Schalke 4-0, with the young superstar Håland, I’m sure that won’t be the last time you will hear his name, grabbing the first goal. Wolfsburg, the team I will be watching, restarted their campaign with a 91st minute winner against struggling Augsburg. On Sunday Bayern regained their 4 point lead at the top of the table, with Lewandoski hitting 40 goals in all competitions for the season.

Next week there are some big fixtures. Wolfsburg come up against Dortmund as the latter try to chase Bayern who are up ahead. 3rd placed Mönchengladbach host 5th placed Leverkusen in what will be a game full of drama I would imagine, and Bayern play out of form Frankfurt as they intend to keep their place at the top of the table.
With the Bundesliga coming back maybe we can expect other leagues to now follow. There are still a lot of questions being asked about what will happen in England and we seem to be told we will know more by next week, although we never really do know more. Celtic won the title in Scotland today despite the season being cancelled, and relegation did go through in the SPFL. Whether English league’s will follow, who knows. Only time will tell. I guess for now we will just carry on supporting our respective German clubs. Come on Wolfsburg.
